Fix/Rebuild a Zodiac Baracuda T5 Pool Cleaner

Welcome back, ePoolSupply supporters! Today I will be going over fixing and rebuilding the Zodiac Baracuda T5 suction side pool cleaner. Right below I have added a picture of the cleaner so you know exactly which one I am going over. At the very bottom, there is a YouTube video our pool professional has made to show you exactly how to do this. He also gives you some useful information about the parts and the cleaner itself. Keep on reading to learn more!

How To Remove

The first thing to do is turn the cleaner over so you can get access to the foot pads, skid plate, and discs. The first thing to remove is the skid plate (R0563400) all you have to do is pull it towards you and it should pop right off. The second thing to remove will be the discs and foot pad, all you have to do is pull the front disc (R0563500) and this can be a little tough but all the parts should come off at once. Once these are off the rear disc (R0563600) will come right apart from the front disc. Now to remove the foot pads (R0563700) off the font disc, you can just pull them right out of the sockets. To remove the diaphragm, start by unscrewing the yellow hand nut (R0563000)  and take it completely off. The whole engine assembly (R0541000) with the thirst washer (R0509200) will come right out. You can remove the outer extension pipe (R0542100) by unscrewing the cup assembly (R0542000). To get to the dura life diaphragm you will untwist the cup assembly a quarter and push the inner extension pipe right out. Now you are left with the dura life diaphragm (X73010) and the inner extension pipe (R0542200) together they just pull apart.

How To Replace

To replace the foot pads into the front disc, all you have to do is pop them right back into the sockets. This can be a little tough but these parts are meant to stretch so do not be afraid to use a little bit of force. Now to connect the rear disc, you will need to turn the front disc over and slide the foot pads into the rear disc. To put the discs back on the cleaner, you will need to take the cleaner body and slide it into the grooves of the rear disc. The skid plate will snap right back into place. Now to reinstall the diaphragm attach the dura life back onto the inner extension pipe. Now you can insert the inner pipe and dura life back into the cup assembly. Align the diaphragm tabs with the notches and pull straight through until the edge of the diaphragm is visible. Then thread on the outer extension tube and slide the thrust washer and the hand nut over the outer extension tube. Finally, insert the engine into the body and thread the hand nut down tight. Make sure the extension tube swivels freely by spinning it.
