What's In The Box: Hayward Aquanaut 200

Hello and welcome to another What's In The Box Wednesday! In this article we'll cover Hayward's Aquanaut 200 Suction Side Pool Cleaner! Let's dive in!

The Hayward Aquanaut 200 Suction Side Pool Cleaner is a two wheeled cleaner meant for a variety of different pool surfaces. The 200 was built to clean a variety of different shapes, textures and sizes of inground pools. The 200 is equipped with a light weight grey hose with ten interlocking lengths that make installing the cleaner a breeze. The cleaner itself has three interchangeable suction orifices to allow larger or smaller debris into the cleaner depending on the operators needs. Each side of the Aquanaut features a humped tire that allows the cleaner to climb or roll over an elevated area like a pool drain and aids the cleaner in the event it becomes stuck somewhere on the pool surface. The Aquanaut is powered by an internal oscillator that forces powerful water through the cleaner to both operate the movement and cleaning portion of the cleaner. An added benefit to the Aquanaut is the universal skimmer cone. This is a one size fits all skimmer attachment that allows the skimmer to attach directly to the pool's existing skimmer.

Hayward included their patented vac lock system that secures the suction line in the event the hose is accidentally removed or falls out, the vac lock will snap closed to ensure nothing can be sucked in or stuck to the wall of the pool. This added feature allows the cleaner to function in a safe manner without the need for constant supervision, and at the end of the day that is half the point of a cleaner; less manual work. Aside from regular maintenance like making sure the cleaner is functioning correctly, this pool cleaner does all of the work.

The Aquanaut operates very simply and as far as suction cleaners go, this one doesn't have to many complex or moving parts like its counterparts. Below is a breakdown of the cleaner and all it has to offer.

For the most part, this cleaner is self-adjusting all the way down to the internal turbine assembly. This feature allows the cleaner to operate at a low level of suction leading to direct savings and less actual energy consumption. The 200 features an internal steering program to ensure efficiency and cleanliness. With 8-10 sections of assigned program before the next turn or rotation, the program covers every inch of the pool surface. An additional assurance is the hose swivel on top of the cleaner that allows the hose and cleaner to move freely across the pool without any kinks or hang-ups.
