A&A Gamma 2 Venturi Pop Up Cleaning Head - Overview

Hello there! We're back today with another wonderful blog overview. Periodically we like to inform our customers of the newest updates in the swimming pool industry. Whether it be a simple "who's who" or maybe even a recent update to equipment. This week we will be discussing the A&A Gamma 2 Venturi Infloor Pop Up Cleaning Heads. Let's dive in!

First we'd like to talk about how an Infloor System works. There are many different versions of in floor cleaning systems out there however, the principal operation for each manufacturer is roughly the same. As with any pool, the water is circulated through a system of suction lines, run through a filter, and returned back into the pool through various pool jets and water features. This is where the infloor system comes in. Once the water has been filtered, it is driven through an actuator which disperses the water at high pressure to a designated "zone" of three to five cleaning heads. These heads "pop up" from the pool floor and spray dirt & debris towards the main suction drain.

The A&A Gamma Series 2 is an upgraded version of the original A&A Style 2. Introduced mid-2012, the Gamma 2 utilizes a bigger locking tab to guarantee a seamless fit into your existing Style 2 Collars. Easily diagnose or install these pool cleaning heads with the A&A Style 2 Tool. A&A has also made some improvements to the spring which allows the head to pop up fully when the pump is running at lower RPMs; a big plus for anyone who has recently switched over to a Variable Speed pump!

The heads measure 2.25" across the top and 4" from the bottom spring to the top cap and are available in the following colors:

  • White
  • Light Gray
  • Gray
  • Black
  • Dark Blue

The Gamma Series 2 Venturi uses pinholes on the top of the head to draw in extra water and add a cleaning boost for those hard-to-reach areas. Gamma 2 Venturi Cleaning Heads combine a 3/8" nozzle on the inside with a 7/16" outer nozzle to create a unique laminar path giving the cleaning head its patented cleaning boost. The Venturi option DOES NOT feature the Adjustable Nozzle like the Gamma Series 2 Standard however, they are suitable for any application in the pool.

A&A Gamma Series 2 Troubleshooting Tip:

If the cleaning head keeps dislodging itself from the floor fitting, try 1 wrap of electrical tape around the locking tabs on the pop up to help it grip the collar better.

As you can see from the picture & video above, the A&A Gamma 2 Venturi has elevated to be one of the most effective infloor pool cleaning heads on the market. Please feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions you might have about your A&A Gamma 2 Venturi Infloor Pool Cleaning Heads.
