Hayward Wanda the Whale Nozzle Assembly Overview!

Hello ePoolSupply supporters and fellow blog enthusiasts. Back with you all again to go over a particular suction side cleaner but more importantly one of its many parts. The cleaner I am referring to is the Hayward Wanda The Whale and the part we are going to go over is the Nozzle Assembly (part # AXV512A). This part is vital to cleaners’ success rate of pulling multiple forms of dirt and debris from the bottom surface of your pool. This part helps direct dirt and debris through the center channel of the pool cleaner so it can be removed from the bottom surfaces of your pool.

Hayward Wanda the Whale Suction Side Pool Cleaner!

In the tradition of the AquaBug, Wanda the Whale turbine cleaners are designed to clean the bottom of all sizes and shapes of above-ground or in-ground pools automatically. They operate off the pool's existing filtration system and feature Hayward's exclusive SmartDrive program steering so it won't miss a spot. Performance, price, and proven reliability make these cleaners the clear choice for automatic pool cleaners.

  • Installs in less than 10 minutes, without tools.
  • The unique turbine/gearing system provides constant balanced water flow assuring quiet operation and gentle movement across the pool bottom.
  • Improves water circulation by pulling water from the pool bottom as it moves.
  • Deluxe bumper ring minimizes friction for easy movement away from walls and resumption of the programmed steering pattern.
  • Includes 32 feet of hose.

What is the Purpose of the Nozzle Aseembly?

The nozzle was created to help aid the cleaner in funneling the dirt and debris littered across the vinyl surface of an above-ground pool, with the help of the 7 pattern-like channels located on the bottom plate that the nozzle attaches to. Another great feature about this part is that it snaps into place above the bottom plate and can be easily removed (with the help of a small flathead screwdriver) so that way if there is any debris trapped and disrupting the effectiveness of the cleaner. It can then be removed from the turbine and restore the power to the cleaner.

Over time these parts will deteriorate from use and the elements that present themselves outside daily or they may even come loose. It is always best to check not only these parts but all the other wearable parts periodically for any wear or damage that can directly affect the way Wanda operates.

In conclusion, Hayward makes a great line of products and when it comes to the basic rules for taking care of your pool, keeping it clean is most often the first thing that comes to your mind. Clean pools are inviting for the likes of all. Hayward’s reliable pool cleaners provide pool owners with peace of mind and total relaxation. Cleaners vacuum and scrub the floor and coves of the pool so you don’t have to (although you still need to brush the walls from time to time).
