About The Cleaner

The DV5000 (W3DV5000) is an automatic suction pool cleaner that can vacuum up dirt and debris in a single pass. It propels itself quietly and efficiently through the pool water cleaning up dirt, twigs, and other various forms of debris. Regardless of the pool's shape, size, or surface the DV5000 affords users a more energy-efficient and random cleaning pattern.

About The Part

The deflector ring (DCX110) is a replacement part that was made by Hayward. The same high-quality materials are used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM part. This deflector ring was designed by Hayward to aid in the maneuverability of this suction cleaner. Ensuring that the cleaner does not stop or get stuck in any corners or around any of the steps, would disrupt the cleaning process. This part is silver and round with reinforced bars along the outside as well as the inside and has an opening in the center which allows you to slide it into place on the swivel assembly located at the top of the cleaner which ultimately connects to the hose so the debris can be taken from the surface of the pool and dispersed into the filtration system.

How To Install Hayward DV5000 Deflector Ring

This deflector ring is meant to be installed onto the top of the cleaner before you put the hoses on. If you look on the bottom of the deflector you will see it has ridges. The ridges are what are going to grab the edge of the cleaner. You don't want to install it upside down because it will not hold onto the cleaner. Installing this is very simple, all you need to do is push it right down onto the cleaner. You will hear a click and it should be able to spin freely without coming off the cleaner. If you are replacing the deflector ring it is very important that you are extremely careful taking it off since you will have hoses connected. It is best if you take a pair of pliers and gently pull the deflector ring off and then take your hoses off to replace it.
