Paramount Style 1 Retro Infloor Cleaning Pop Up Head - Overview

Hello there! We're back today with another wonderful blog overview. Periodically we like to inform our customers of the newest updates in the swimming pool industry. Whether it be a simple "who's who" or maybe even a recent update to equipment. This week we will be discussing the Paramount Style 1 Retro Infloor Pop Up Cleaning Heads. Let's dive in!

First we'd like to talk about how an Infloor System works. There are many different versions of in floor cleaning systems out there however, the principal operation for each manufacturer is roughly the same. As with any pool, the water is circulated through a system of suction lines, run through a filter, and returned back into the pool through various pool jets and water features. This is where the infloor system comes in. Once the water has been filtered, it is driven through an actuator which disperses the water at high pressure to a designated "zone" of three to five cleaning heads. These heads "pop up" from the pool floor and spray dirt & debris towards the main suction drain.

Paramount Style 1 Retro Infloor Cleaning Pop Up Head

The Paramount Style 1 Retro Jet Infloor Cleaning Pop Up Head was designed to be a direct replacement for the A&A Manufacturing Style 1 Cleaning Heads which were first introduced in 1985. Paramount's 99% guaranteed cleaning coverage leaves the customer with peace of mind. The cleaning heads are easily removed with one of the Paramount Retro Nozzle Tools. We offer them in two styles: Plastic, and All Metal. The Retro Heads install clockwise and are removed by twisting the tool counter-clockwise similar to the original Style 1's. The Retro Heads also include three "twist lock" nozzle caps measured at 1/4", 3/8", and 5/8". The caps can be installed or removed by locking the 4-Prongs on the bottom of the head (we recommend a screwdriver,see the video below) and twisting clockwise to install or counterclockwise to remove.

If you're looking for an adequate replacement to your original A&A Style 1 Infloor Cleaning Pop Up Heads, look no further than the Paramount Style 1 Retro Infloor Cleaning Pop Up Head. Before installing the new Retro heads, double check to make sure you have enough room below the pool floor for the pop up to sit flush. Some pool builders in the past would install a ninety degree elbow directly under the Pop Up heads installed in the pool steps, so there may not be room to install the new Retros due to the size difference. The original Style 1 heads measure 4" tall whereas the new Retro's are slightly larger at 4.5" tall.
