About The Product

The bottom cover kit (360231) is a replacement part made by Pentair. The same high-quality materials were used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product. This bottom cover was designed for the purpose of being a protective cover for the bottom side of the Pentair Racer pressure side cleaner. Without this cover, the internal parts would be exposed to the outer elements of the pool water and objects that could potentially disrupt the parts that move or provide the cleaner with the capabilities to clean the surfaces of your pool. The part is blue and attaches itself to the top cover with the help of a few screws locking both objects in a place where they can protect the internal operating mechanisms. Also, the bottom cover has an opening designed to go over but not block the vacuum tube. This is where the venturi jets and water management system create the vortex needed to push and pull up the dirt and other various forms of debris through this tube and into the debris bag for disposal after it fills.

How To Replace and Remove Bottom Cover

The first thing you need to do is remove the scrubber assembly and the wheels. Once you get everything removed, the next step is to flip it over so it will be easier to remove. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver since there are three screws you will need to remove. Two screws are located in the front roller scrubber assembly and to get access to them you will need to remove the actual scrubber. The third screw hole is located towards the back of the cleaner up at the top and once all screws are removed this will give you full access to take apart the entire bottom cover. It is important you do not pull the cover off, you will want to gently wiggle it off so you do not break anything. If you flip the bottom cover over you will notice there are two wires connected to it. You will need to remove those to replace the bottom cover. When replacing the cover back on, the first thing is to connect the wires back to it. Now you can align the cover back on and screw it back in.
