This product is the trade series model (which can only be purchased locally from a retail store) made and manufactured by our friends at Hayward and is a part of a long line of proven suction-side pool cleaners. This cleaner is very effective and durable when it comes to cleaning out the unwanted dirt, mulch, and other various forms of debris and it goes by the name of the AquaNaut 250 automatic suction pool cleaner.

Brief History

The AquaNaut series of automatic pool cleaners were the first all-terrain clog-eliminating suctions introduced to our fun and amazing pool market and to this today remain the best in their class. These products are available in two- or four-wheel drive models but for today we will be discussing the 2-wheel model. This cleaner was designed with patented technologies to deliver superior power, traction, balance, and performance for traditional nondiving pools of different shapes, sizes, flow rates, and of course debris types. The AquaNaut 250 also features patented self-adjusting variable vanes known as V-Flex technology, which automatically adjusts to allow for larger debris like rocks or sticks to pass through without any interruption to the cleaning process unlike other suction cleaners out there. Because of this design maximum, suction power can be delivered at virtually any flow while providing a clog-free clean covering of the pool floor, walls, and hard-to-reach coves.

Pool Applications

These automatic suction pool cleaners were designed for in-ground pool surfaces such as Concrete, Gunite, Vinyl, Fiberglass, Tile, and Pebble. Because of the rugged tire treads offered, these cleaners provide superior climbing power and maneuverability. The adjustable roller skirt located around the lower body of the unit allows the cleaner to never lose suction on uneven surfaces. This 2-wheel style suction cleaner was designed for pools up to 16’ x 32’ and comes with 33’ of hose length which is a perfect number of hoses for smaller bodies of water. AquaNaut 250 requires a minimum pump size/flow rate of 0.5 HP (Horsepower) or 35 GPM (Gallons Per Minute). This cleaner also offers three different interchangeable throat sizes-small, medium, and Large. The small throat is designed for better suction with a lower flow rate and smaller pumps can be used with variable speed pumps and at lower speeds. The medium throat is used for almost all average filtration systems. The large throat is designed for better suction with a higher flow rate and larger pumps and can be used with variable speed pumps at higher speeds.
