Not every fastener or adapter is used for every installation. The optional BIK4 brass anchor kit is separate.

Which frames and sumps is the full kit designed to retrofit?

AquaStar identifies the full A10 kit for many existing nominal 7-inch to 10-inch sumps/frames, using the appropriate adapter holes, slides, bushings and fasteners. The instructions show 8-inch and 10-inch AquaStar frames, super-low-profile frames, Waterway frames, Paramount SDX arrangements and an approved direct-anchoring option. Match the actual geometry and installation method; the term universal does not guarantee every existing frame or condition.

What does the replacement guide list?

The 2026 guide identifies A10 as a current option across standard 8-inch, off-standard 8-inch and standard 10-inch replacement groups. Those groups include 8AV, 8CC, 8HP, 8AVWR, 8FUW, A8R, LP8AV, LP8AVWR, R8HP, RLP8AV, 10AV, 10AVWR, 10AVR, 10CC, 10FL, 10RCFR and 10MF families. Verify the exact frame, mounting route and adequate certified flow configuration before selecting a replacement.

Does sumpless mean every installation has the same zero-depth rating?

No. AquaStar’s specification document revised June 16, 2025 lists specific zero-depth configurations and other configurations with minimum pipe depths and flow-path requirements. For example, its specified floor arrangement with 2-inch bottom plumbing at zero pipe depth is listed at 119 GPM; a different 2-inch bottom-pipe floor arrangement with a 3-inch minimum depth is listed at 150 GPM and requires its stated additional geometry. Use the exact approved SOFA row and actual plumbing rather than one universal rating.

What does the current catalog list for the mounting components?

The illustrated full kit lists two long slides, two short slides, four ⅜-inch bushings, two ¼-inch bushings and three ¼-inch plastic concrete anchors, with the adapter frame, cover and mud frame. These components support different mounting routes; follow the manufacturer’s application-specific drawings.

Are brass anchors included?

The full kit includes the specified plastic concrete anchors. BIK4 is the separate optional brass anchor kit identified for approved direct-anchoring installations. The catalog’s BIK4 application uses the three outside A10 frame holes for the specified sump/frame arrangements up to 10 inches; follow the full mounting instructions.

What is the difference between this full kit and the contractor two-pack?

This A10RCFRxxx SKU is the full single cover, universal adapter and mud-frame configuration. AquaStar separately lists A10RCFR2xxx as a contractor two-pack with mud frames, described as without the retrofit kit. Do not assume the two-pack supplies the full single-kit assortment of retrofit components.

Which replacement hardware kit is listed?

The catalog identifies ProStar SCW005 for the full A10RCFR family. Verify that the replacement kit supplies the exact adapters and fasteners required for the chosen installation; hardware is application-specific and not every supplied piece is used. The separate contractor two-pack has a different listed replacement kit, SCW006.

Which certification and installation documents apply?

The current family is identified as certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 50 and ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 2017. Use the A10-specific IN020-110923 instructions, the matching certificate and the current configuration-specific flow document. Match the actual product markings and manufacturing generation to the appropriate files.

When should the cover and screws be replaced?

AquaStar’s IN020-110923 instructions require replacement of the cover assembly and fasteners within five years of installation, or earlier if damaged. Service life begins when installed, with or without water. Inspect the adapter, mud frame, anchors and other components and follow all manufacturer maintenance requirements.

Does universal mean the cover is unblockable?

No. The A10-specific instructions identify this as a blockable suction outlet fitting assembly. New pools and spas require a multiple-SOFA system. Existing single-outlet systems also require the appropriate additional anti-entrapment device or system described in the manual. A qualified pool professional must verify the full design.

Does the six-per-case notation change the listing quantity?

No. This listing is for one full cover kit. The six-per-case figure is the manufacturer outer-case reference; the contractor two-pack has its own separately numbered package.

What warranty terms does AquaStar state?

AquaStar’s 2026 catalog states a general one-year limited warranty from original installation for defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the complete terms and exclusions. Color fading, improper installation, poor water chemistry and other listed causes are excluded; non-approved components may void coverage. Repair or replacement is at AquaStar’s option.
