Hayward Pump Lid O-Ring (HCXP6014A) is a component designed to create a watertight seal between the pump housing and the transparent lid in Hayward's HCP Series self-priming pumps, including models HCP55, HCP75, HCP100, and HCP125. 

Sealing Mechanism: The O-ring fits snugly into a groove on the pump housing or lid. When the lid is secured, the O-ring compresses to form a tight seal, preventing water and air from entering or escaping the pump chamber.

Maintaining Prime: A proper seal ensures the pump remains primed, for efficient operation. Air leaks can cause the pump to lose its prime, leading to reduced performance or damage.

Preventing Leaks: Sealing the junction between the lid and the housing, the O-ring prevents water from leaking out, which could otherwise lead to water loss and potential damage to the pump or surrounding equipment.
