• Pressure Threshold Check: The switch is designed to activate (close) only when the pressure falls within a specific range, indicating proper ventilation. If the pressure is too low (due to a blocked vent, restricted airflow, or blower malfunction), the switch remains open, preventing the heater from igniting. If the pressure is too high, it can also trigger the switch to open, shutting off the heater as a safety measure.
• Signal to Control Board: When the correct pressure is detected, the switch closes, sending an electrical signal to the control board. This signal allows the ignition sequence to proceed, opening the gas valve and activating the ignitor.
• Continuous Safety Monitoring: Throughout the heating cycle, the switch continuously monitors vent pressure. If the pressure drops unexpectedly, the switch will open, shutting off the gas supply and extinguishing the burner to prevent unsafe conditions.
