Pentair IntelliSync Pool Pump Controller | EC-523404

Pentair EC-523404 IntelliSync adds app control to compatible Pentair pumps. It connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and uses the appropriate wired pump communication cable. The controller supports pump-speed operation; available feedback and control depend on the pump model and production revision.

Check your pump before choosing a cable

The installation guide identifies supported IntelliFlo and SuperFlo-family models and their connection methods. Older digital-input pumps differ from RS-485 models. For SuperFlo equipment, the November 2, 2020 production change is relevant; inspect the pump label and connector rather than selecting a cable from the family name alone.

Set schedules with the right expectations

Use the Pentair Pool app to manage supported pump operation. Digital-input models use preset speeds configured at the pump, while supported communicating models provide different controls and feedback. IntelliSync supports speed commands on IntelliFlo VSF pumps; it does not turn this interface into a flow-rate controller.

Installation planning

Confirm network coverage at the mounting location, access to the correct outlet and a suitable route for the separate pump cable. The controller’s plug-in power supply does not eliminate pump communication wiring. Follow the appropriate diagram and commissioning steps for the exact pump.

Legacy product and cold-weather planning

Pentair identifies IntelliSync as discontinued. Confirm the required hardware and current app support before planning a new installation. Internet-based freeze functions depend on connectivity and external services; they do not replace proper winterization or site-specific freeze precautions.

Can it control gallons per minute?

The IntelliSync guide specifies pump-speed control, not GPM flow control, including when paired with a supported VSF pump.

Does it work with every Pentair pump?

No. Check the supported-model list and connection method. IntelliFlo VF is excluded from Pentair’s compatibility guidance.

Is installation entirely wireless?

No. Wi-Fi connects the controller to the network, but the pump requires a compatible wired communication connection.
