Pentair IntelliCenter i5PS Pool / Spa Kit with IC40 & Load Center | 521906

Bundle identity: 521906 / 5PSIC40 is the legacy IntelliCenter i5PS shared-equipment pool-and-spa kit with a common load center, IntelliChlor IC40 cell and transformer, and two IntelliValve actuators. The included cell is the original IC40, not an IntelliChlor Plus40. Other pool equipment is separate.

Control capacity: the standard i5PS arrangement provides five high-voltage relays—one filter-pump circuit and four auxiliary circuits—and controls pool/spa valve switching for a shared filtration system. It is distinct from an i5P single-body system or i10D system for separate equipment sets. Additional circuits require the applicable expansion hardware and installation design.

Installation: the load center’s 150-A maximum subpanel rating is separate from individual relay ratings. A qualified electrician must size the supply, breakers, conductors, equipment circuits, grounding and bonding for the actual installation. The control transformer can be configured for 120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz as specified in the installation guide. Disconnect all supplies before service.

Enclosure: the common load-center mounting drawing gives approximately 26.9 in. high × 17.8 in. wide × 5.5 in. deep. Allow the manual’s working, mounting and service clearances separately.

Setup and networking: configure connected equipment and sensors using the current guides and installed firmware. The system supports local touchscreen operation and network-based remote control once the required network connection/account is configured. Wireless hardware changed across bundle revisions; do not assume a current high-power wireless part number from the legacy SKU alone. Current family guides describe a 25-foot water-sensor lead and 3-foot air-sensor lead; verify the actual cable route before mounting.

Later bundle: Pentair’s March 2025 transition guide maps 521906 to 523964 with IntelliChlor Plus40. That later bundle has different chlorination hardware; this page remains the original IC40 configuration. Confirm any subsequent replacement and its actual contents separately.
