Inline chlorinators are a simple way to automate tablet dosing on traditional chlorine pools. They do not generate chlorine; they meter it from tablets you supply. For safe heater operation, most installers include a check valve between the heater and feeder and add isolation valves on both sides of the chlorinator to make service cleaner and faster.

Q: Will this work with my variable speed pump?
A: Yes, it is intended for variable speed systems, but it still needs enough flow to erode tablets. You may need to adjust pump run time and speed to keep chlorine levels stable.
Q: Can I use this on a saltwater pool?
A: You generally do not need a tablet chlorinator on a properly sized salt system. This feeder is mainly for tablet-chlorinated pools.

- Best practice is installation after filter and heater, with a check valve ahead of the feeder
Description
The ARG CIV00 Inline Chlorinator is meant to take the daily guesswork out of tablet chlorination on variable speed pump systems. As pump speeds and run times change, so does water flow through the system. This inline feeder uses that flow to erode chlorine tablets and feed sanitizer consistently into the return line, reducing the need to manually add chlorine after every pump cycle.
Mounted in the plumbing on the return side of the pad, the chlorinator accepts standard tablets and uses an adjustable control dial to regulate how much chlorinated water is fed back into the pool. That lets you dial in the right setting for shoulder season, peak summer or light off-season use, instead of constantly chasing chlorine levels with loose tablets or liquid additions.
Pro Tip
Always pipe an inline chlorinator after the heater, not before it, and use a check valve between them. This helps prevent highly chlorinated water from backing up into the heater core when the system is off. Isolating the feeder with valves on each side also makes it easier to service or winterize without draining the entire system.

Installation Tips
Turn off the pump and relieve pressure before cutting into plumbing. Mount the chlorinator on the return line after the filter and heater, following the flow direction arrows on the body. Use appropriate PVC primer and cement and allow proper cure time before restarting the system. Install isolation valves on both sides of the feeder so it can be serviced independently, and a check valve between the heater and chlorinator to limit backflow of chlorinated water when the pump is off.
