Hayward BUMP SHAFT (ECX1110) Key component in Hayward D.E. (Diatomaceous Earth) filters,  models EC65 and EC75. It is part of the bump handle assembly, which plays a critical role in maintaining the filter's efficiency and extending the life of its grids.

• Grid Cleaning Mechanism:
• The bump shaft is connected to the handle, which agitates or "bumps" the D.E. filter grids.
• Bumping action loosens the debris and restores proper flow through the filter.
• Filter Maintenance:
• Using the bump handle and shaft, you can redistribute the diatomaceous earth (D.E.) on the grids.
• This process minimizes frequent backwashing or recharging the filter with fresh D.E.
