Pentair MasterTemp 400 Propane Pool Heater | EC-462029

Pentair EC-462029 is the MasterTemp 400 pool and spa heater configured for propane, with a 400,000 BTU/h input rating. It provides gas-fired pool and spa heating for installations sized to the required temperature rise and heat loss.

Select the right fuel and capacity

This propane model must match the fuel supplied at the equipment pad. Heater selection also depends on exposed water area, local weather, wind, cover use and desired warm-up time. The 400,000 BTU/h figure is an input rating; it is not the amount of heat delivered to the water or a guaranteed heating time.

Plan the installation before ordering

Ask your installer to review gas-line capacity, available pressure, electrical service, circulation flow, exhaust location, combustion air and service access. Will it heat my pool in a fixed number of hours?

There is no universal warm-up time. Starting temperature, water volume, weather, heat loss and heater output all matter. Have the installer calculate the required capacity.

Can it be installed indoors?

Only with the combustion-air, venting, clearances and installation provisions required for the exact heater and site. Indoor installation requires qualified planning; it is not a plug-in placement decision.

Can I switch fuel types myself?
