Description

The Hayward 1″ PVC True-Union Y-Strainer (YS10100SU) is designed to deliver high durability and protection in compact piping systems. Its injection-molded PVC body stands up to chemical, UV, and environmental exposure, while the true-union socket design allows servicing without pipe cutting. Internally, the 1/32″ perforated basket intercepts debris that could harm downstream equipment. The FPM O-ring keeps the unit sealed across repeated maintenance cycles. With a 150 psi non-shock rating at 70 °F, it balances strength, protection, and minimal flow restriction.

Pro Tip

Keep a spare perforated basket on hand to swap during maintenance. Use a true-union PVC ball valve upstream to shut off flow before opening the strainer.

Installation Tips
