Product FAQs

Does 2½-inch pipe fit inside this valve?

No. The instructions show 2-inch pipe fitting inside the ports; 2½-inch pipe connects using a 2½-inch coupler, 45-degree or 90-degree fitting.

Is 4717 a complete valve or just the diverter?

4717 is the complete valve. Jandy separately lists internal diverter assembly 4720. The housing is not sold separately in the manufacturer parts list.

Can it be automated?

The NeverLube range is designed for use with a Jandy Valve Actuator. The actuator and compatible controls are separate purchases, not included with this manual valve.

What should the installer check?

Follow Jandy’s instructions for inlet orientation, handle stops and solvent welding. The internal assembly must be removed before gluing, and glue must not enter the body beyond the ports.

Does it replace a check valve?

No. This is a manually positioned diverter for routing flow, not an automatic one-way check valve. Select each valve for its intended role in the plumbing design.

Jandy 4717 NeverLube 2–2½-inch Three-Way Valve — 4739 Rev. F

Description

ZODIAC · 4717

Route pool water with a three-port valve

Jandy 4717 is a complete NeverLube three-way positive-seal diverter valve with a CPVC body. Its manual handle directs flow between plumbing lines; a compatible Jandy Valve Actuator is an optional separate purchase for automation.

Two connection options

2-inch pipe fits inside the ports. Connect 2½-inch pipe using the appropriate 2½-inch coupler or fitting.

Three-port layout

Choose this model for a three-way plumbing arrangement, not a two-port shutoff valve.

NeverLube design

The valve’s seal design does not require routine lubrication.

Check fit before ordering

Match the port count, nominal pipe size and available installation space. The 2–2½-inch designation describes plumbing connections, not overall valve dimensions. This is a solvent-weld valve, not a threaded-union replacement.
