Description

This genuine Pentair threaded adapter restores the 2-inch plumbing connection on compatible Pentair/PacFab HiFlow multiport valves. Its factory-matched shape and connection size allow the existing valve body and plumbing system to remain in service when only the adapter is damaged.

Pentair lists multiple adapter sizes and connection styles within the same HiFlow valve family. Confirm that the existing assembly calls for the 2-inch threaded adapter rather than the 1.5-inch threaded, 1.5-inch slip, or flanged version before ordering.

Installation

1. Turn off the circulation pump and disconnect power before opening the filtration system.
2. Open the filter air-relief valve and confirm that all system pressure has been released.
3. Remove the existing bulkhead nut, adapter, and sealing components.
4. Clean the valve threads and sealing surfaces, then inspect the nut and O-rings for damage.
5. Install the correct O-ring and hand-start the replacement adapter to prevent cross-threading.
6. Tighten only enough to produce an even seal. Do not overtighten the PVC adapter or nut.
7. Restore circulation gradually and inspect the connection for leakage.

Pro Tip

Do not reuse a flattened or cracked adapter O-ring. Pair the new adapter with the Pentair 274494Z valve adapter O-ring, and inspect the 274407Z bulkhead adapter nut before reassembling the connection.
