Pentair OptiFlo Vertical Discharge Aboveground Pool Pump | EC-348196

Pentair OptiFlo Vertical Discharge Aboveground Pool Pump | EC-348196

Pentair EC-348196 is the OptiFlo aboveground pool pump with vertical discharge. Choose this configuration by matching the pump’s electrical, plumbing and performance requirements to the installation.

What makes this configuration different

This configuration has a vertical discharge, a 3-foot standard cord and 1.5-inch plumbing size. Check the discharge direction against the filter inlet and hose routing. Other OptiFlo numbers use different cords, plugs or discharge arrangements, so match the exact model before ordering.

Size the pump for the complete system

Have your installer compare the manufacturer’s pump curve with your required flow and total dynamic head. Check the filter, heater, cleaner and sanitizer requirements as well as the suction plumbing. Neither horsepower nor a maximum flow figure alone establishes compatibility.

Installation and electrical planning

Verify the 115V supply requirements against the motor label and connection diagram. Provide the mounting, wiring, grounding, bonding and circuit protection required by the guide. Confirm applicable installation-location requirements before purchase.

Service and replacement planning

Keep the strainer and circulation path maintained where applicable, inspect for leaks, and follow the manual’s priming and shutdown procedures. Stop the equipment and relieve system pressure before opening pressurized components. Match replacement parts to the full model and production revision; visually similar pumps may use different drives, motors or hydraulic components.

Frequently asked questions

Will this replace any pump with the same horsepower?

No. Compare the performance curve, electrical requirements, plumbing and physical fit. Match the full model rather than horsepower alone.

Is the electrical supply interchangeable?

This model’s listed supply is 115V. Have the installer verify the unit label and configure any permitted voltage selection exactly as instructed.

Can I change the operating speed?

This listing is the specified OptiFlo configuration. Verify the motor label; it is not a programmable variable-speed controller.

Which manual should I use?

Use the manufacturer guide for the exact pump family and production revision. Retain the unit’s data plate information when ordering service parts.
