Q: What sand does the SD80 require? A: Use 350 lb of standard #20 silica pool-filter sand. Plan media separately and follow the exact installation manual. Do not assume glass or other media is an approved substitute.
Q: Can this be used with a variable-speed pump? A: Have a pool professional match the pump’s actual flow to the SD80 filter and the complete system. The published filter flow rating is 75 GPM; a pump’s speed setting alone does not establish safe flow.
