Product FAQs

Is this the Quad D.E. inlet or outlet bulkhead?

Pentair’s current Quad D.E. manual lists 194801Z as the inlet bulkhead. The outlet bulkhead is listed separately as 178575Z.

What does 2⅜-8 mean?

It is the buttress-thread designation in Pentair’s catalog, not an overall product diameter or a claim of universal pipe compatibility. The current FNS Plus manual describes the part as a 2-inch bulkhead.

Does it fit FNS Plus filters too?

Yes. Pentair’s current FNS Plus manual lists 194801Z in the replacement-parts diagram. Match the exact tank and original part before ordering.

Can I service the filter while the pump is running?

No. Shut off power and relieve all system pressure before opening the filter. Follow the instructions for your exact filter and clamp design. Improper assembly of a pressurized filter can cause serious injury.

What warranty applies to an online purchase?

Pentair lists one-year parts-only coverage for internet purchases, subject to its applicable terms and exclusions. Read Pentair’s current warranty terms.

Pentair Filter Replacement Parts Catalog

Description

PENTAIR · 194801Z

Match the bulkhead, not just the pipe size.

Pentair 194801Z is a filter bulkhead identified in the current FNS Plus and Quad D.E. replacement-parts diagrams. On Quad D.E. filters it is the inlet bulkhead, not the separate outlet bulkhead.

Verified filter applications

Match the bulkhead callout in the exact FNS Plus or Quad D.E. diagram.

Inlet versus outlet

Quad D.E. identifies 194801Z as the inlet bulkhead and uses a different part for the outlet.

Connection details

Pentair’s FNS Plus manual calls it a 2-inch bulkhead; the parts catalog specifies 2⅜-8 buttress threading.

Check fit before ordering

Compare the original part number and diagram position. The 2-inch nominal size and 2⅜-8 thread designation describe different measurements; this is not a generic fitting for any similarly sized pipe. Follow the manufacturer’s pressure-release and assembly instructions.
