The float for the feed hose, Black is a replacement part made by Polaris. The same high-quality materials used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product.

The hose float was built for the cleaner's hose system that takes the water from the dedicated return line (which is powered by the booster pump) and disperses the water into the cleaner. This gives it the power to suck and pull dirt and debris off your pool's surface. Without this float the hose would fall to the depths of your pool, thus weighing your cleaner down and would cause impediments throughout the surface.

This float is black and is strategically placed throughout the length of the hose’s assembly to keep it above the water and from being tangled up which would disrupt the cleaner. A great troubleshooting tip if the hose continues to get tangled is to first check the back-up valve and whether it is operating correctly. if that’s not the issue then it may be due to the placement of the hose float, you can fix this by moving the float directly behind the back-up valve. This should resolve the issue and allow the hose to be tangle-free.
